Captain Anton "Tony" Grosh, 100 Ton Coast Guard Master License - 4th Issue

Captain TonyBoat Experience:  Private Yachts, Sail and Power Boats, Commercial Vessels up to 150ft in length.

Waterway Experience:  Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic Coast, Intercoastal Waterways from New York to Florida, Inland Waterways, and the Great Lakes.

 

I have sailed the waters from Maine to Texas over the years on a variety of vessels such as a 50 ft. Hinckley Sailboat, Motor Yachts, and Commercial Lift Boats up to 175ft; both in the inter-coastal waterways and off-shore. I also have extensive experience on the waters of the Great Lakes and Inland waterways.
I travel with my own navigational aids and electronic equipment:

I pledge to treat your vessel as if it was my own. I respect your property and will take the utmost care while underway. Owners and their family or guests are welcome to accompany me.

Should you decide not to go, and I need crew, my wife is also highly qualified as a first mate. She has over 20 years experience on both sail and power boats, sailing in the inter-coastal waterways, off-shore, inland waterways, and the Great Lakes.

 

 

Lift BoatI have often been asked about my experience on a lift boat, so I thought I would put a photograph of the type of vessel that I captained for 4 years until August of 2010.  This type of vessel actually lifts out of the water on its three legs so it can sit next to un-manned oil rigs off shore of Louisiana and Texas.  I managed a crew of 4 and also had up to 8 workers for the company who hired the boat.  Chevron frequently hired my boat so they could maintain their oil rigs.  I would be on the boat for 14 days and then I would have 14 days off.

While I was off during those 14 days, I would have opportunities to deliver other boats.  One of the most interesting was a 42ft Carver Motor Yacht that I deliverd from Cape Coral, Florida to Port Everglades (Ft Lauderdale), Florida.  The boat was lifted onto a ship destined for China.

Another favorite trip was aboard a 72ft Uniesse from Miami to New York City.  We travelled off shore and on the intercoastal waterways.  Hinkley Yacht

 

 

I also had the pleasure to captain a 50ft Hinkley Sail Boat off the coast of Maine in Bar Harbor, on a whale watching cruise.  I have raced Thistles on Lake Erie, owned a Pearson 36 and an S2 27, giving me an extraordinary amount of experience on sail boats.
